Tim is basically your average ladies man. He can pull and probably has pulled every girl in Mattoon. Well teen that is. He starts working at the plant and meets this chick name Helena. She’s disses him right from the start throwing negative comments at him because she knows who he is. She knows what he’s all about. He thinks that she’s work the hassle and goes at it. When he says “hi” she throws dagger comments at him and they go at it like cats and dogs until her birthday comes strolling on. He gets her fake flowers as a prank and in his surprise she actually like them and doesn’t say anything negative. After that they’re cant be separated. It gets to the point where he thinks to himself how things would be if they live together just the two of them and all. When he goes off to the orientation and comes back they stop talking. He thinks its his fault that she’s not calling. He’s doesn’t hang with his friends like he used to. Even in the beginning of their relationship he stopped hanging with them a the time. He’s always down and is constantly thinking of her. When he finds out the reason why she stopped talking to him he falls apart. Before she leaves he confesses to actually loving her. He had a plan for the two of them. He knew her like no other and love her. The way she snored the way she laughed etc. He doesn’t call her after that but he still thinks about her.

Catch 5

So Tim finds out that his brother slept with his girl Helena. That’s why she hadn’t been returning any of his calls or messages and why she didn’t go to work. After she tells him he feels sad, duped, young, angry, tired, guilty, and alone. He goes back home only to be stopped by Doug. He tries to ignore him but it gets to him and he is forced to turn around. They say their words and take it to the field. The field is worn down from when they used to play together back then. There they are in their positions catching and throwing the ball. Doug throwing his fast balls like he never threw them before. Tim catching every single one of them. Tim is shocked that Doug hasn’t lost a touch and is probably better. The excitement between them is building and they are getting tired but aren’t showing it. Doug moves up and continues until he is like 20ft from Tim. Doug throws the ball but Tim isn’t paying attention due to the fact that he was recovering from the last shot. He gets hit right in the side of the mouth and falls over fetal position. After that blow Doug is practically at his side in like seconds. He’s the brother Tim’s been missing all this time. It took fast balls and catching them to bring back the Doug Tim was looking for. After that they’re all buddy buddy and its like it never happened.

Catch 4 x 2

So Tim and Jessica goes to their orientation and meet these twins named Eric and Gabe and this other dude who is giving them the tour name Munesh. He starts right off saying what Jessica wants to hear. That they were going on a tour and that he was going to show them the buildings and tell the meaning of them. They don’t go on the tour at all and Jessica is a little bummed because she wanted to go bad so instead they go to a bar and hang around asking questions and to his surprise he is enjoying this a lot and is feeling that he can live the college life. He forgets to call Helena though. He find out that Eric is gay and that they are Jewish. The twins know of Mattoon and think that its an interesting town only because of the bagels and all. They was like it was funny how their small town claimed that it was the bagel capital. They're at the bar having a good time and getting to know Munesh and the twins a little more. Munesh tells them that curfew is 11:30 and that they lock up and stuff. Tim is enjoying the music and the scenery. He asked Munesh where he was from like what country or something like that and he was like Chicago but i guess the way he asked the question and how Munesh answered it is the funny part. Tim was embarrassed but was still laughing with the crowd. Between the twins Gabe is the laid back one and Eric is the nerd. Tim says that they were the first Jews that he'd seen. Munesh tells them that the professors are just like him and that all you have to do is show up enough so the vaguely remember your face and turn in enough assignments so you don’t fail. There’s a variety of people there that Tim doesn’t know and he’s really considering going there. He tells that to Jessica, not in those exact words but he really like it, before they sprint to make the curfew.

Catch 4

Ok so after that little fight with Doug and hanging with Helena its about that time for Tim to go to his orientation. He doesn’t want to go but he does anyway. Before all of this him and Helena are at the store and they’re all lovey dovey and all and they hit the corner and there’s Doug getting ready to check out and all. He sees them and start messing with the both of them and bringing up Helena’s past relationships trying to get under their skin and stuff like that. That same night all their plans of eating pasta went down the drain and everything started to turn bad. After that they barely see maybe for like two days. He goes to his orientation and meets these twins named Eric and Gabe and this other dude who is giving them the tour name Munesh. They don’t go on the tour though instead they go to a bar and hang around asking questions and to his surprise he is enjoying this a lot and is feeling that he can live the college life. He forgets to call Helena though. He find out that Eric is gay and that they are Jewish. The twins know of Mattoon and think that its an interesting town only because of the bagels and all. So him and Jessica are headed back to town and after that they go their separate ways. He goes to Helena’s house to see that her car is parked not how its suppose to and that the door is open. He walks in and sees the tv showing some show with naked chicks running around. He hears music blasting from Helena’s room and goes that way. He finds her asleep on the bed skirt hiked up halfway no shirt on face in a pillow sleep. He looks around and there’s empty beer cans on the floor and some guys jacket on the closet door. He walks away not touching anything and leaves. To me I think that her mom died because he didn’t mention her not once.

Catch 3

So far Tim and Helena’s relationship is going good I can say and they’re sneaking around and hang out so no one knows of them. They go to this restaurant that has a skating rink next to it. Well they don’t actually go to the restaurant they go to the skating rink instead. He meets her cousin Jill who runs it I guess and on his first impression she seems dead. She lost her husband is why though. They get to know each other a little more while there and lose track of time and end up being the last people there. Like maybe a day or two after that Tim and his family is out on the lawn cleaning and stuff and he is cleaning and waxing the car. His mom is doing what she does and starts crying because he’s going off to college and all. His brother is over there watching it all while pretending to listen to music. His mom and dad go in and Doug stands and throws a cigarette on the ground. Tim says he’ll pick up his mess and Doug goes ballistic and is about a inch away from Tim’s face. They don’t fight or anything just a little arguing. He later meets Helena at her cousins trailer and they hang and he like has this attitude about what happened between him and Doug. He’s throwing all the wrong signs at Helena. She eventually finds out and they start to enjoy themselves. Now that him and Helena are together Tim’s barely hangs with the horsemen anymore.

Catch 2

So far in Catch the main character Tim, a baseball player in the making, is deciding on what he wants to do with his life. His brother Doug, went to college to play baseball, came home and is acting kind of weird in Tim’s opinion and let himself go completely. He was built and pretty much clean. Now he’s got a beard that he’s hoping he can braid soon and he has a beer belly. He doesn’t listen to the same music as he did when he came through and he seems to have an attitude about just about everything that has to do with school. Tim thinks it messed him up, college I mean, so that’s why he’s having such a hard time deciding whether to go to or not. So he’s working over the summer time at this place moving boxes to a truck like 8 hours straight with about one break when he meets this chick name Helena. His friends , the horsemen, also work there to but when the boss comes around they like zombies and don’t talk to Tim like they do when they’re not working At first him and her are like cats and dogs and say smart things or do little stupid things to each other. He overhear that her birthday is coming up on Friday of that week and decides to give her a little present to be funny. He ends up seeing her later at the bar. They chat and hang and get drunk and after that they start dating.

Catch

The significance of the title Catch is that the main character is a baseball player. He’s trying to figure out whether or not to go 2 college where he could be corrupted like his big brother who is also a baseball player a better one at that or whether he wants to stay home and not be corrupted and live his life the way it is where he’s know to all. His dad was on his way to the minor league and that was seen as something good in there little town. Because his dad was almost pro he’s like worshiped in that town and people do things for him and say that his sons are good boys and do favors for them. He’s basically just having a hard time deciding on whether to run home or stay on 3rd base. Its hard for him because he doesn’t want to lose the game and fame doesn’t want to be a nobody if he leaves home.

Liar 4

When Tayshawn took Micah outside of school and told her it was a dog that killed Zach I knew right away it wasn’t one. That’s all I need to know to that the killer was actually the white boy. When Micah asked him about it I was even shocked at his answer. He didn’t care he just right out and said I killed your boy. If I was Micah I would’ve did more then punch and kick him. Micah’s kind of crazy in the head for wanting to do something with Tayshawn and Sarah again. I couldn’t believe her parents thought he was lying about not killing Zach. I know she was feeling hurt and betrayed by her own parents. Her parents now want to send her upstate with the great now because she came home four nights after with someone else’s clothes on. If I were her I would’ve ran away but she didn’t instead she went to find the white boy. She lies so much you don’t know what’s the truth and not. So when she said she didn’t have a brother I was like cool ok no brother. Then she says she had one but he died I get this epiphany what if she killed him and that’s why her parents don’t like her all that much. While running with the white boy she found out that that day she transformed she cause him to change to and that’s how he got to Zach. He’s pretty young so he didn’t know better. I also couldn’t believe he practically destroyed his body. I mean piece by piece destroyed it.

Liar 3

When I found out that Micah was a werewolf I was kind of shocked. All the signs were there from her running fast to her having a good sense of smell and even her hearing. I didn’t put the pieces together until she actually started telling the truth. I think it’s cool and all because being a werewolf it just seems awesome to me. I don’t think she killed Zach though. Her taking pills to maintain the beast was different but she was looking for the safest way to keep it under control. She refuses to go to the Greats because she doesn’t want to be in the wild. I mean she does but she only wants to run free. She doesn’t like being upstate with the Greats because she’s so used to the city. The city is her home and she seems to have the wolf tamed at the moment so why force her to move. Her changing into a werewolf has disadvantages on her. She can’t have sex drink coffee or anything with caffeine and no alcohol. She avoids contact with people because of the illness due to that. She hung with Zach a lot outside of school basically running in the park. They tracked down fox together. Zach thought she was lying about being able to track and hunt real well so she proved it to him by find him in the park in a high tree. Her vision was even better. She could see the pores on Zach’s face. She was just out of this world

Liar 2

When reading Liar some of the emotions that were stirred up in me were excitement and a little boredom. Excitement because of I wanted to know what was going to happen next so I guess you could say I was a little anxious as well. Boredom because I didn’t really care about the family history after she started saying she was going to tell the truth. She just got out of control. That did it for me. I wanted to know what it meant by a punishing inconstant heart. Also what happen to Erin. All of sudden its focused on Zach and then some days later she goes missing. I wonder if she’s connected with Zach. I also want to know if those test they took that tells them about their=ir background were accurate or not. Micah I would say is a loner. She chooses not to fit in for some reason and likes to lie for the fun of it. If I were in that area I would be a loner to but I wouldn’t lie to make myself known. She seems really fast to have left Zach in the dust the way she did. I only mention this because of track and how its all about speed and pacing yourself. I didn’t like how the school only cared about their grades the most. How some were on scholarships I thought that was cool or whatever. They should focus on sports as well as the other minor things. I didn’t really learn much at the moment but it gets better.

Liar

So far in Liar im impressed. The main character Micah is very iteresting. I find that she and I are alike in many ways. Some of the other characters like Zach her boyfriend in disguise is also interesting. I am curious as to how he died. I like how Micah is really fast and how she keeps to herself alot. And the fact that she knows alot about the out doors is also cool. Her parents are so-so and her brother is alright. I hate that she has such a small house and i think its funny that their bikes are upside down in the kitchen. So far its good and i like how it gets straight into details.

Week 3

My favorite place to read is basically anywhere thats comfortable. Once back in high school i read this book called "teeth marks" it was about this teen who moves to the country for work he suffers a injury a servere motorcycle accident. he ends up in the hospital for months and meets weird people, as he calls them. Thats where he rells his story about how he ended up there and how he met this girl and falls in love with her. In the end it was really good. When it comes to how fast i read i have no idea. I guess it just depends on how good the book is. If its good and catches my attention i'll be done in like some days. Some things that people have told me that were false was that i read slow but i dont i actually read pretty fast here and there. I prefer to read out-of-school reading because in school we could be doing an asssignment and im just getting to the juicy part of the book. In-school reading is good and all but your limited especially if you were told to read to a certain page in class and you are a slow reader. In the past ive read books about vampires and i still do now but i mainly read whatever i can find that catches my attentio. The time of day that i read is whenever im no to lazy. With most of the books ive read ive learn something new from every one of them whether the information is useful or not.
